Description

Penny Pennington, the managing partner of Edward Jones, is responsible for the firm's strategic direction, helping our clients achieve their most important financial goals.

James D. Weddle began his career at Edward Jones as an intern and later became a financial advisor. In January 2006, Weddle became the firm's fifth managing partner, retiring in 2018.

Douglas E. Hill, who began his career as a financial advisor with Edward Jones in 1968, served as managing partner from 2004 to 2005.

The firm realized Ted Jones' dream of opening 300 offices, and Ted named John Bachmann as the firm's new managing partner in 1980. Bachmann led the firm until January 2004 and served as a senior partner until his passing in 2019.

Ted Jones replaced his father, then 75, as the managing partner. He introduced the concept of serving communities from local branch offices.

Mr. Jones' son, Ted Jones, returned from New York, where he'd been working and going to school, to become one of the firm's financial advisors.

Edward D. Jones Sr. founded Edward D. Jones & Co., opening the firm's first offices in downtown St. Louis, then the heart of the city's financial district.
